Mechanical engineering and production technology are dynamic industries with a high degree of innovation. As a cross-sector industry and technology leader in many fields, they integrate the latest findings into plants and products. They supply almost all sectors of the economy with the necessary production technologies and act as drivers for innovation.
North Rhine-Westphalia has the best prerequisites for the digital age. Mechanical engineering and production technology companies are particularly in demand as enablers and problem solvers. They act as suppliers of Industrie 4.0 modules, as integrators of ICT technologies and sensor systems in their products, and not least as users of Industrie 4.0 solutions to optimize their own production processes.
Digitalization and Industry 4.0 bring with them a new value creation logic that is a complex challenge for all those involved. ProduktionNRW has defined five topic areas that need to be analyzed, discussed and driven forward.
