The state of North Rhine-Westphalia and 15 partner organizations are launching an information campaign for greater digital security in companies. A funding program supports cybersecurity measures.
Threats in the digital space are steadily increasing. More and more companies, including in North Rhine-Westphalia, are affected by cyberattacks in which criminals often target sensitive data. To draw attention to digital dangers and provide information about ways to strengthen a company’s own IT security, the state is joining forces with 15 partner organizations to launch the “Tür zu im Netz” campaign.
Minister of Economics Mona Neubaur: “Not only the effects of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine make it clear that attacks from the digital space are now among the greatest threats to companies. Measures for more cyber security are therefore just as much a part of a company’s basic equipment as the alarm system. The ‘Close the door on the web’ campaign aims to raise awareness of threats from the digital space and show ways in which companies can strengthen their digital defenses and protect sensitive data. Together with the partner organizations, we are encouraging businesses in North Rhine-Westphalia to address the issue of cybersecurity. Because every company can better protect itself from cybercriminals without much effort.”
The website www.tuer-zu-im-netz.nrw offers an uncomplicated way to make an appointment for the free consulting services offered by DIGITAL.SICHER.NRW and provides information about the state’s support program for more cyber security in companies. Small and medium-sized enterprises can receive financial support for cybersecurity measures through the “Mittelstand Innovativ & Digital” funding program in the “MID-Digitale Sicherheit” module. For example, investments in hardware, software and measures such as vulnerability analyses or training for employees are funded with up to 15,000 euros from state resources.
