Around 127,000 visitors from 150 countries were able to see the innovative strength of the North Rhine-Westphalian economy for themselves at the Hannover Messe from March 31 to April 4, 2025. With around 225 exhibitors, North Rhine-Westphalia was once again the strongest federal state. ProduktionNRW represented mechanical engineering and production technology from NRW.

North Rhine-Westphalia presented itself as a region for innovation, AI and sustainable industry at the NRW joint state stand with a total of 26 exhibitors. The exhibitors showed practical solutions – from automation to microelectronics and cyber security. New this year was the competence platform KI.NRW, which showed how companies can already use AI in a meaningful way today. In around 30 presentations, companies and networks from North Rhine-Westphalia also had the opportunity to present their expertise, technologies and innovations to trade fair visitors.

One of the highlights at the NRW joint stand was the visit by Oliver Krischer, Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of North Rhine-Westphalia, who exchanged ideas with the exhibitors and informed them about their services. Members of the Bundestag Nicklas Kappe (CDU) as well as Sandra Stein and Dr. Alaa Alhamwi (both Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) also visited the NRW stand. In addition, ProduktionNRW welcomed delegations from Belgium, Chile, Finland, Mexico, the Netherlands and Singapore and established contacts with various NRW companies.

The large participation of the mechanical engineering and production technology sectors at the world’s most important industrial trade fair demonstrates the innovative strength of North Rhine-Westphalia as an important and strong location in Europe.
