Companies in the environmental economy combine economy and ecology and attach particular importance to climate and environmental protection as well as resource conservation. In this way, the environmental economy drives forward a wide range of innovations that make a significant contribution to mastering the transformation to a green economy. This commitment pays off for the environment, the economy and society – and that deserves recognition!
The Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and NRW.BANK are therefore awarding the Umweltwirtschaftspreis.NRW for the third time this year. The competition honors sustainable and innovative companies from North Rhine-Westphalia whose products or services combine climate and environmental protection as well as resource efficiency with economic success. It recognizes the commitment and courage of companies in the environmental economy that manage to act in the interests of society and future generations and position themselves successfully on the market. All facets of entrepreneurial activity are taken into account. Particular attention is paid to climate and environmental protection and adaptation to climate change, the innovative character, the benefits for society and economic success.
The competition is part of North Rhine-Westphalia’s environmental economic strategy and offers companies in the green economy the chance to win a prestigious state prize with prize money totaling 60,000 euros. In addition, the competition offers a platform on which the ten nominees for the award can present their innovative and sustainable products, services or processes to the public.
Are you also doing something good for the economy and even better for the environment? Then submit your application between February 26 and April 30, 2024! Companies from NRW that are active in at least one of the eight submarkets of the environmental economy and are already successfully marketing their environmentally friendly, innovative business idea can take part.
