Mastering challenges in NRW – securing the future

The mechanical and plant engineering industry in North Rhine-Westphalia is facing major challenges: The ongoing economic recession in Germany, the war in Ukraine and geopolitical tensions – for example due to US customs policy or the increasing decoupling between the USA and China – are significantly exacerbating the situation. Falling order intake, stagnating growth and an increasingly complex regulatory landscape are putting a noticeable strain on the industry’s ability to innovate.

In this tense situation, it is all the more important to implement short-term measures and not rely solely on political changes. Rather, every company management is called upon to take action itself and make its own organization resilient and fit for the future.

Impulses for a future-proof positioning

Our new series of events offers you practical insights and concrete approaches to restructuring in mechanical and plant engineering. The focus is on strategies to strengthen your company’s resilience – from optimizing internal processes and innovative cooperation models to developing sustainable business strategies. We also take a targeted look at topics such as digitalization, sustainability and securing skilled workers.

“Mastering challenges – securing the future” is part of the VDMA campaign “Stormproof: Safe through economic turbulence”, which also supports companies with practice-oriented offers – including on the topics of resilience, cost efficiency, increasing sales and the shortage of skilled workers.

Target group

The series is aimed at specialists and managers from the relevant company divisions as well as members of management in the mechanical and plant engineering sector in NRW.
