Industrial transformation: Dialog for the future launched

n its ambitious transformation of North Rhine-Westphalia into Europe’s first climate-neutral and most competitive industrial region, the NRW state government is relying on close cooperation with business and trade unions. To this end, Climate Protection and Industry Minister Mona Neubaur has launched an Industry Dialog for the Future together with the presidents of 14 associations from business and the trade unions. The corresponding declaration of intent was signed in Düsseldorf on January 20, 2023. In it, the signatories committed to the goal of making North Rhine-Westphalia the first climate-neutral and most competitive industrial region in Europe by 2045 at the latest. To achieve this, competitiveness, value chains, innovations and climate protection, the preservation of natural resources, the principles of good work and social security must be integrated and thought together.

Dr. Timo Berger, Chairman of the VDMA NRW and Sales Director of the Weidmüller Group, has signed the Letter of Intent for the “Future Dialogue Industry” for the VDMA and emphasizes: “We are pleased about the clear commitment to the industrial location NRW. Especially in the current situation, it is more important than ever to demonstrate the importance of industry for employment and prosperity. In order to achieve climate neutrality, maintaining and expanding competitiveness are an important basis.”
