ProduktionNRW provided information about career opportunities in mechanical and plant engineering at the “mach mit” training fair in Oelde and introduced the TALENTMASCHINE.de platform for young talent.
On June 12 and 13, 2026, ProduktionNRW was represented at the “mach mit” training fair in Oelde, continuing its long-standing commitment to promoting the next generation of skilled workers in the region. The fair is aimed at students from Oelde, Ennigerloh, and the surrounding area, offering them the opportunity to learn about regional companies and various training pathways. Around 60 companies and institutions participated as exhibitors this year.
Long-standing Commitment to Securing the Next Generation of Workers
As part of ProduktionNRW, the VDMA has been participating in “mach mit” for many years, supporting career guidance for young people and helping to attract future skilled workers. Numerous companies from the industry once again used the fair as an opportunity to engage with students, parents, and teachers.
Focus on a Wide Range of Apprenticeship Trains
At the ProduktionNRW booth, the focus was on apprenticeship and career opportunities in mechanical and plant engineering. It became clear that many young people are seeking guidance and want concrete insights into possible career paths.
The TALENTMASCHINE.de platform for young talent sparked particular interest. The portal offers a comprehensive overview of the various apprenticeship opportunities in the industry and helps young people find the right entry point into the field.
It was encouraging to see the high level of interest among students in the diverse career profiles. The numerous conversations highlighted how important face-to-face interactions and practical information are for young people’s career choices.
Positive Feedback and Valuable Contacts
The career fair was very well attended on both days. In addition to discussions with students, parents, and teachers, valuable contacts were also established with the exhibiting companies. The consistently positive atmosphere demonstrated once again the important role such events play in securing a skilled workforce.
For ProduktionNRW and the VDMA, “mach mit” remains an important platform for introducing young people to the future prospects of the industry and supporting companies in the region with their training initiatives.
Through initiatives such as the TALENTMASCHINE and personal interactions at events like “mach mit,” the VDMA, together with ProduktionNRW, is helping to inspire young people at an early age to take an interest in technology, innovation, and the diverse career paths in mechanical and plant engineering.
