NRW presents key points for a state-wide circular economy strategy and asks businesses for feedback. The online consultation runs until 15.02.2026.
North Rhine-Westphalia has the potential to become a leading location and a central hub for the circular economy in Europe. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of the Environment have now presented the key points of a “Circular Economy Strategy”. The state government is thus creating an important basis for turning the circular economy into a driver of innovation for new products, business models and value creation.
Companies and associations can now participate in the creation of the strategy via online consultation. The central focal points of the strategy are presented and put up for discussion along fourteen key points. The results of the consultation will be incorporated into the further development of the circular economy strategy, which is to be adopted by the cabinet in the first half of 2026.
The expertise and practical experience of companies are of particular importance for the consultation. Only their involvement will ensure that the strategy meets the actual challenges and provides viable solutions for the economy.
The online consultation will run until 15.02.2026.
