Strategic exchange: Egypt Round Table with NRW.Global Business

With over 100 million inhabitants, a young, consumer-oriented population and a growing middle class, the country is a dynamic growth market. Major infrastructure projects, free trade zones and agreements with the EU, the African Union and Arab states are strengthening Egypt’s role as a logistics hub between three continents and opening up access to a market of over 1.3 billion people. Targeted investments in energy, digitalization and industry offer companies from NRW a wide range of opportunities – for example in packaging, food processing, logistics and renewable energies.

A delegation led by the Egyptian Ambassador to Germany, Dr. Mohamed Abdelsattar Mohamed Elbadri, was a guest at the Egypt Round Table of NRW.Global Business, which was attended by representatives from chambers, associations and research institutions. Martin Strauch explained the importance of the Egyptian market for the mechanical engineering industry on behalf of the VDMA NRW regional association. After weaker years during the Covid pandemic, exports to Egypt reached around one billion euros last year and in the first half of 2025, sales will reach half a billion euros, which gives hope for a similar result as in 2024.

NRW.Global Business and the Egyptian Embassy want to deepen the dialogue through further exchange.
