The owl mechanical engineering congress 2025 took place on October 8 at the IHK-Lippe in Detmold.
Specialists and managers from industry, research and networks met at the owl maschinenbau Kongress, the most important industry get-together of the year in OWL at the IHK-Lippe zu Detmold.
The congress began with two trend-setting keynotes that addressed current developments and translated them into an entrepreneurial context: Dr. Thieß Petersen from the Bertelsmann Foundation gave a well-founded assessment of the current situation in Germany and highlighted the three major megatrends of demographics, decarbonization and deglobalization. His analysis provided a valuable basis for reflecting on and further developing strategic objectives in one’s own company. Prof. Dr. Ute Brüseke from HAWK University then showed how companies can actively shape this change. She focused on the cultural transformation within organizations – a decisive lever for ensuring innovative capacity, resilience and sustainability in the long term.
Innovative applications and best practices from the fields of AI, digitalization and service, among others, were then presented in specialist lectures:
- Factory Data Hub: The key to digital transformation (speakers: Lutz Hermanns and Niklas Knesebeck, Böllhoff Group)
- Smart service across the entire customer journey (Speakers: Pascal Bühner, Novoferm Group and Alexander Niemann, Smartsquare GmbH)
- Data and AI strategy in SMEs (speaker: Sven Wunram, Remmert GmbH)
- Automation as an answer to the shortage of skilled workers (Speaker: Alfred Könemann, Anderson Europe GmbH)
- Cyber resilience as a success factor (Speaker: Dr. Matthias Meyer, Fraunhofer IEM)
- Workflow Automation @ PHOENIX CONTACT (Speaker: Jan Alsters, PHOENIX CONTACT GmbH & Co. KG)
- Experiences, stumbling blocks and solutions for the modernization of complex ERP landscapes (Speakers: Matthias Getzlaff and Didier Tounkap, Stübbe GmbH & Co.KG)
- AI in sales (Speaker: Christian Buck, Strategic IT GmbH)
This year’s owl maschinenbau congress was an all-round successful platform for participants to gain new impetus from global developments and practical case studies, to exchange ideas with like-minded people – and to shape the future together.
